What a Year 2012

2012 has been an amazing year at OCs. We've made our 75th year a billboard year on every front.

The great core of players who made 1s and 2s GFs last year returned, along with a great bunch of boys from Uni, some terrific newcomers to rugby, old friends returning after a gap of a few years, and some U18s who've stepped right up to the plate in the last few weeks; five streams of players coming together into one fantastic cascade of talent.

What a year! We won the Bartercard Cup. We won the ANZAC Cup. We won the Eastern Suburbs Cup. We saw two of our own play for Australia; d'Arcy Sadler and Liam Gill. We saw Alex Rokobaro in red and blue again, if only for a few weeks. We took home minor premierships in 2s and 3s. We had 5 teams in finals. We won the Coopers Cup for the Championship Club.

And now here we stand; 1s, 2s & 3s in GFs, and they play at Vic Park where this club played its first rugby back in 1937. Vic Park was our first ever homeground. At the crescendo of this amazing 75th anniversary year, we're coming home.

That's the story of the year so far, lads. What a year! What a story! We are so proud of you. We have every faith in each of you. Good hunting tomorrow.
