Meeting of rugby committee 7th December 1988
Present - Mike von Berg, John Davies, Sean Beaton, Denis Hayden and Danny McCartan

Informal discussions held on policy of selection
Club selectors to have substantial input in selection matters.
Mike von Berg accepted Director of Coaching position.
He is looking to develop Collegians game into an open rugby style.
To be able to cope we need to be fitter.
He has the services of several fitess coordinators. One in particular Bob Carney.
He also has a sports psychologist willing to help in our preparation - Terry Sheppard.
Season starts with a BBQ at Hardy's Winery on Sunday 26th February.
Training begins Tuesday 28th February, with approximately 6 weeks to prepare for the First's game.
Training will be varied from time to time both in format & venue
Letter to players to be sent pre-Christmas.
Training to start early evening this season
Emphasis on discipline & skills.
Equipment needed
Tackling bags - heavier than previous type
Mauling bags - Powerhouse - to be organised by Mike von Berg
Sand bags (50) refer John Davies
Discussion on lineout machine - Mike von Berg
Coaches
2nd & 3rd grade coaches still required
Hamish Cranna is still thought to be interested in the 4th grade position. We may still be advised to advertise.
Note: - Awaiting Junior Rugby thoughts on seniors involvement. Before proceeding ahead with a sub-committee to bring the 'two' bodies closer together.
