Old Collegians Rugby Union Club
Peter (Jesse) James
"The Club welcomes the following playing members who were elected on 14th April 1986.
B.J.Connolly, T.Clark, P.Hodgson, P.James, Ben Rokobaro and A,Riches."
That was how in an announcement in the Tregenza Times of the 12th May 1986 that Peter James was formally adopted into the club. Interestingly, on the same day as Ben Rokobaro. Also interestingly, in the days when you had to be nominated to join the club and when your name went on the board for two weeks with a spot underneath for people to object.
15 years later, Jesse became a Life Member of both the Club and the South Australian Junior Rugby Union.
From 1974 to 1989 Jesse served with the Australian Defence Forces in the army retiring as Battery Quarter-Master of 110 Air Defence Battery, 16 Air Defence Regiment, RAA.
He has been Cricket Umpire, Rugby Referee, Cricket and Rugby Coach and Administrator.
