Old Collegians Rugby Union Club
Edwin (Toby) Clay
Anne Clay
From the Tregenza Times of the 26th of May 1986:
"The members of OC's were sad to hear of the recent death of Mr. Toby Clay. Mr. Clay was a staunch supporter and member of OCRFC for a period of 30 years. He learnt his zeal for rugby in New Zealand where he played for King's College and then the College Rifles in Auckland.
When he was transferred to S.A. with an insurance company, he quickly joined a rugby club, first (quietly, quietly) West Torrens for 2 years, then OC's.
Members of OC will miss seeing Mr. & Mrs. Clay sitting together at "their" corner window in the clubhouse during inclement weather on Saturdays.
Members extend their condolences to Mrs. Clay and her family."
From the Tregenza Times of the 19th of February 1987:
"We are sad to report the death recently of Mrs. E.C. (Anne) Clay, an Associate Member of the Club. Anner & her late husband Toby were long time supporters who regularly used to come up and watch the home games. Our sympathies go to Howard, Roger and their families."
