From the 30th April 1979 Newsletter:
Laurie Evans had a good turnout for the crucifixion keg at Easter. He is not sure how many days it was before the red lines in front of his eyes finally went away.
The social committee is planning an Auction in a few weeks time. This will be at the Club on a Saturday night with a meal provided. A fun night where you can pick up some bargains and make others happy whilst saving yourself a trip to the tip. Please sort through your cupboards and see what you can donate to the club. Dinny Farrah indicated he would offer his body to the highest bidder, but everyone laughed!
Crucifixion Keg
This initiative, of Easter 1979, created some discontent amongst the Club's members. It was acknowledged that it was of dubious taste, but surprisingly, still proceeded.
