The best part of this game was the strong performance from the new players. We played 10s/11s to cater to NEDs numbers, and for 20 minutes in the last half 7 of those players were first year players (four in their first game) and still managed to put 20+ points on NEDs in that time. Great work from all of them: Laura, Georgia, Dounia, Helene, Melanie, Lisa and Amy!

U7s, U8s and U10s GALA DAY - 20 May 2012

OC fielded teams in Under 7s and Under 10s at the first Juniors Gala Day on Sunday 20 May. It was a fantastic day, and while we don't keep scores in these age grades we're happy to say that the lads all did very well indeed. Gala Days are held roughly every four weeks with all clubs together (in between we play in the Eastern Zone with Uni and Burnside). The great thing about Gala Days is that you don't have to be committed to a club to play so if you know any kids between 6 and 10, get them along to a Gala Day so they can see what they think of rugby (and jumping castles and face painters).

The U12s made the cup final and lost to Brighton Gold but were undefeated until then. Very well played!
The U14s topped their pool but lost the semi final to Onkas by a try in the last play. Again very well played.
